Postseason Hoop Tourney to Begin

The Cal Lutheran and The Master’s College men’s basketball teams will begin play in postseason tournaments this week, it was announced Sunday.
Cal Lutheran (20-6), the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference co-champion with La Verne, will play the host Leopards (19-7) for the fourth time this season when the teams meet in a second-round game of the NCAA Division III tournament Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Both teams have byes in the first round of the 48-team tournament, which starts Thursday.
Master’s (18-9) will play host to Bethany (15-15) in a first round game of the NAIA District 3 tournament at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
This is the fourth consecutive season that the Mustangs have qualified for the District 3 tournament.
