Carole Merle of France won her first World Cup super giant slalom of the season at Veysonnaz, Switzerland, but Austria’s Anita Wachter finished second and kept her lead in the overall title race. Merle earned 100 points, while Wachter earned 80 to increase her point total in the overall standings to 954. Merle is second with 764.
