ALL-ORANGE EMPIRE CONFERENCE BASKETBALL TEAMS : Coaches Pick Saddleback’s Molle, Riverside’s Williams as Co-MVPs

Saddleback’s John Molle and Riverside’s Lou Williams were selected the co-most valuable players of the Orange Empire Conference by a vote of the men’s basketball coaches.
Molle, from Irvine High School, averaged 18 points and helped Saddleback to the conference title. Williams averaged 24 points for Riverside, which finished tied for second with Cypress.
The coaches selected 12 other players for first-team honors. Antoine Jefferson of Saddleback was the only other Gaucho picked.
Also on the first team: Robbie Shelton of Cypress, Tyler Koon and Josh Lewis of Golden West, Eddie Cochran and Bobby Natoya of Fullerton, Chris Kostoff of Irvine Valley, Jeff Porter of Orange Coast, Fred Amos and Ruben Oronoz of Rancho Santiago, and Darryle Flicking and Raimond Migliniex of Riverside.
Bill Brummel of Saddleback was named coach of the year.
