Rocket Accident Kills Technician in Sweden

STOCKHOLM — A rocket started up as its ignition was being tested Saturday inside a space center, plowing into technicians on the site, officials said. One technician died and three were wounded.
The 9-foot-long rocket lay on the floor of a building at the European Sounding Rocket Range, said Jorgen Hartner, an official at the space center.
The rocket then crashed through a wall of the building, plowed into another building 50 yards away and exploded, he said.
The rocket, part of a German-led project to study the Earth’s ozone layer, had been scheduled for a Sunday launch on an unmanned mission.
