OXNARD : El Rio Residents Gather Recyclables
- Share via
Residents of Oxnard’s El Rio neighborhood got an early jump on spring cleaning during a community cleanup day that netted about 40 truckloads of recyclables, organizers said.
Neighbors dropped off everything from rusty car fenders to yard refuse at Rio Plaza School at 600 Simon Way during the Saturday event.
“They’ve been bringing everything . . . including the kitchen sink,” said Edward Sajor, an aide to County Supervisor John K. Flynn, who co-sponsored the cleanup. E. J. Harrison & Sons of Ventura donated the labor and vehicles.
