L.A./N.Y. Connection: CalArts alums are making a strong showing in New York City this week at the Biennial Exhibition at the Whitney Museum of Art. Artists Christine Chang, Guillermo Gomez-Pena, William Jones, Mike Kelley, Timothy Martin, Daniel Martinez, Lari Pittman, Jonathan Robinson and Sue Williams, who studied at the CalArts’ visual arts department, as well as faculty member Allan Skula will have works at the exhibit, which opens Friday and runs through June 13. The show features 150 works that focus on new directions in American art in the last two years.
