Arcadia’s Second-Half Goals Beat El Modena

ARCADIA — Arcadia scored two goals in the second half to defeat El Modena, 2-0, in a Southern Section Division II girls’ soccer playoff game Thursday at Arcadia Civic Center.
The Apaches (23-1-1) scored their first goal early in the second half on a 10-yard shot by Michele Kennedy. The second goal came late in the game on a tap-in by Valerie Brice.
The Vanguards (17-6-1) got a good game from goalkeeper Amy Moreno, who stopped 15 shots before giving up her first goal of the game.
El Modena managed seven shots on Arcadia goalkeeper Cathy Zoccoli.
