No Mr. Establishment: Filmmaker Spike Lee shrugged off his second straight year without an Academy Award nomination, saying he did not want to be seen as “part of the Hollywood Establishment.” Speaking to reporters Wednesday before a speech at an independent and minority film festival at Texas A&M; University, Lee said that he did not make pictures for Hollywood and that his films will be watched long after “the five films nominated for best film are forgotten.” He added: “You just have to look at the members who make up the academy. . . . That’s not something I want to be a part of, and they don’t want me to be a part of it either.”
