MOSCOW — Step right up! Get your gunships, submarines, all the ground-to-air missiles you can carry. Cargo planes, attack jets--they’ve all got to go.
The weaponry will be put on the block this week at the first arms auction in the former Soviet Union, a Russian newspaper said Friday.
The arms bazaar will be held in the city of Kharkov, Ukraine, on Tuesday, and $2 billion worth of goods will be on display.
The inventory includes hundreds of tanks, dozens of missiles, artillery systems, fighter planes and even two Kilo class diesel-propelled submarines and a 40-ton military cargo plane.
Prices range from $7,500 for a portable ground-to-air Fagot missile to $2.2 million for a sophisticated T-80 battle tank and $16 million for a MiG-27K attack jet.
