Dorsey High football player Antonio Carrion, 18, sued Time Inc. and Sports Illustrated for $5 million, alleging he was misidentified as a gang member in an Oct. 19, 1992, story about how the team weathers gang conflicts.
In the Superior Court suit, Carrion, a receiver at Dorsey, alleges that being identified as a Crips gang member in the story and photo captions put him at risk of assault or death at the hands of rival Blood gang members.
