Man Shot in Confrontation With Officers
Los Angeles police shot one man and arrested another Wednesday night after a confrontation near an intersection in the Watts area.
Uniformed officers were working on a carjacking detail near 103th Street and Lou Dillon Avenue when at least two men confronted them about 6:35 p.m., said Don Cox, a Police Department spokesman.
The officers fired on the suspects, wounding one in the neck and chest, Cox said. The wounded man was taken to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The other suspect, who was no injured, was arrested.
