PREP ROUNDUP : Kennedy Girls Defeat Pacifica in Soccer

Lori Van Herk had two assists and Laurie Fritz, Heather Darin and Rachelle Darin each scored to give Kennedy a 3-1 victory over Pacifica in a Garden Grove League girls’ soccer game Friday at Pacifica.

Kennedy (9-2-3, 4-0 in league) moved into first place.

Cindy Stevens scored a goal and Cindy Vojtech made 14 saves for Pacifica (3-1 in league).

In other Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:

Bolsa Grande 4, Garden Grove 1--Stacy Engelhard, Jennifer Miller, Jennifer Ramirez and Moira Wolfrum scored for host Bolsa Grande (4-9, 1-3). Brenda Zulke scored for Garden Grove (0-3-1 in league).

In the Freeway League:

Troy 4, Fullerton 2--Emily Keeler scored twice for Troy (8-6, 1-3), which scored three second-half goals. Deborah Hargrave and Marilyn De la Torre scored for host Fullerton (1-3 in league).

In the Sunset League:

Huntington Beach 1, Westminster 0--Cayce Meade scored her first goal of the season for host Huntington Beach (8-7-1, 1-2-0).

In the Olympic League:

Orange Lutheran 2, Brethren Christian 0--Shawnna Johnson had a goal and an assist and Brooke Parkinson scored a goal for visiting Orange Lutheran (4-5-1, 1-2-1). Brethren Christian is 0-7, 0-5.

In Sunset League field hockey:

Santiago 1, Marina 0--Claudia Aguilar scored the winning goal for Santiago (13-0-2, 9-0-1).
