Bert Blyleven, wanting very much to stay with the Angels, signs a minor league contract with Minnesota.
Whitey Herzog, when pressed for an explanation, says he “didn’t know what happened.”
Is this the ultimate not-to-be believed blunder by the front office? I think so.
The time has come for Whitey and the Cowboy, arm in arm, to stagger off into the sunset together.
