HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Bell-Jeff Girls Win 12th Straight Game by Routing Cantwell

Lori Talley had 23 points and six assists for Bell-Jeff High in a 76-35 Camino Real League victory over Cantwell-Sacred Heart on Thursday night in a girls’ basketball game at Bell-Jeff. Cathy Flores added 17 points and Carrie Breedlove had 14 for the Guards (16-2, 4-0 in league play), who have won 12 in a row.

Alemany 40, Harvard-Westlake 27--Zevette Mitchell scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Indians (15-3, 3-1) to a Mission League win.
Thousand Oaks 84, Royal 38--Melissa Wood led the Lancers (17-0, 5-0) with 21 points and Samantha Clarke and Marion Jones each added 14 in a Marmonte League game.
Newbury Park 45, Westlake 41--Jan Thorpe’s 12-foot shot sealed the Marmonte League victory for Newbury Park (11-5, 3-2).
Chaminade 48, Louisville 31--Shawnte Mitchell had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (9-6, 2-3) in a Mission League game.
Bishop Montgomery 82, Notre Dame 61--Valery Brady led Notre Dame with 23 points in a Mission League game.
Village Christian 49, Western Christian 42--Jeanne Beauchamp had 13 points, eight steals and five assists for the visiting Crusaders in an Alpha League game.
L.A. Baptist 45, Marshall Fundamental 30--Darcie Frazier had 10 points and six assists as the Knights (7-9, 1-1) won an Alpha League game.
L.A. Lutheran 28, Ribet Academy 25 (OT)--Holly Roepke led the host Lions (7-3, 3-1) with 14 points, including four free throws in the final 90 seconds of regulation play of the Heritage League game.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Burbank 66, Canyon 51--Tyson Helsley had 16 points to lead five Bulldogs in double figures in a Foothill League game. Willie Perryman had 11 points and 10 blocked shots for visiting Burbank (5-8, 1-1). Charles Woodard led Canyon with 16 points.
WRESTLING
Ventura 48, Dos Pueblos 19--The Cougars (10-2, 2-0) won a key Channel League meeting behind heavyweight Sean Burdick, Jason Carmody (135 pounds) and Justin Jackson (140).
