COSTA MESA — After an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, three Green Burrito fast-food Mexican restaurants have consented to give workers a total of nearly $25,000 for unpaid overtime.
The franchiser of the restaurants--4 Amigos in Sunset Beach--agreed in federal court in Los Angeles to pay overtime to 29 employees who did not receive time-and-a-half despite work weeks as long as 76 hours, the Labor Department said Thursday. The payments will range from a few dollars to $5,300.
The Labor Department said the owners of 4 Amigos are Charles R. and Denise Robinson, with an address listed in corporate records as Los Alamitos; and Felix and Georgiana Tulay of Los Alamitos.
The Labor Department examined company records covering two years up to July, 1992.
The restaurants are on 19th Street in Costa Mesa, Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach and in Lakewood.
