As part of a two-month-long narcotics sting operation, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies have arrested three men on suspicion of selling cocaine in the Thousand Oaks area, authorities said Tuesday.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested the men in Canoga Park on Monday night.
One of the suspects, Manuel Farias Fernandez, 22, tried to escape arrest but was caught in a large apartment complex after a foot chase, deputies said.
Jose Luis Garcia, 22, of Canoga Park and Oscar Pio Solis, 25, were also arrested and charged with the sale, transportation and possession for sale of cocaine, deputies said. Fernandez’s and Solis’ cities of residence were unknown.
Authorities said the suspects had been selling cocaine in the Thousand Oaks-Westlake area. Monday night’s arrests came after the suspects sold nine ounces of cocaine to undercover officers, deputies said.
The total value of the cocaine seized during the operation was $60,000, deputies said. The suspects were booked into the Ventura County East Valley Jail, with bail set at $250,000 each, authorities said.
