In His Book, It’s Anything but ‘Nice’

In her Dec. 24 article on life in the Pacific Northwest (“On a Northwest Course”), Ann Japenga defines political correctness as nothing more than “another version of niceness.”
Her well-thumbed Marxist-feminist dictionary is out of touch with reality. On college campuses, there’s nothing “nice” about political correctness--unless, of course, The Times approves of the rage and intolerance exhibited by left-wing intellectuals toward people who disagree with them.
