Don’t Ignore Monorail Fans
Several local elected officials have loaned their support to a group backing the Burbank branch partial subway line. This high-powered political coalition involves elected officials representing a few affluent Hill people (Encino, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, etc.) and redevelopment interests who do not wish to look at a quiet, bullet-shaped train of the future.
It continues to amaze me that the 102,000 people who voted for monorail in 1990 are continually ignored. How about representing the majority of Valley voters instead of a few special interest groups?
The monorail should go all the way to Ventura County. We spent last summer in Ventura and were amazed at the many people who travel to our valleys to work every day. They claimed that if such a train were available, they would park in Agoura or Thousand Oaks and use a monorail system.
