Reconsider Naming Davis
Why in the state of our economy in California has a retired police officer and former senator been appointed to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Appeals Board? (“Davis to Join State Alcohol Panel,†Times Valley Edition, Dec. 22).
When we have so many people unemployed, why give a 76-year-old person a job that a younger man could use? Ed Davis is already getting a pension from the Police Department and also from serving in the state Senate. It seems preposterous. Gov. Pete Wilson should reconsider this appointment.
