Palisades 58, Taft 39--Taft (5-6) made only 25% of its field-goal attempts in the final of the Eagle Rock tournament.

Kennedy 67, Sherman Oaks CES 58--Guard Joe Wyatt scored 41 points, including 17 of his team’s 19 in the first quarter, to lead Kennedy in the seventh-place game of the Birmingham tournament.

Santa Ana Valley 71, Hoover 60--Chad Reese had 35 points for Hoover (7-6) in the 11th-place game of the Estancia tournament.

MEN

Cal Lutheran 70, Capital 65--Rupert Sapwell and Paul Tapp each scored 14 points for Cal Lutheran in a nonconference game.

GIRLS

Bell-Jeff 58, North Hollywood 33--Cathy Flores scored 20 points and added 16 rebounds to lead the Guards (12-2) to the Bell-Jeff tournament title. Lori Talley added 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Palmdale 51, Hart 45--Latisha Beam had 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Falcons (10-1) into the final of the Thousand Oaks tournament. Shannon Martin scored 15 points for Hart (8-4).

WOMEN

Golden West 79, Valley 57--Valley, ranked No. 3 in the state, was outrebounded, 50-24, in the final of the Fullerton tournament. Amy Horst led Valley (14-3) with 14 points. Golden West (19-2) is ranked fifth in the state.

Ventura 88, Victor Valley 38--Nicole Ellis had 32 points and 10 rebounds, and Tara Sanders added 20 points for host Ventura (8-4) in a nonconference game.
