KATELLA KLASSIC : Roditis Scores 28, Rallying Katella to Title Victory

Katella guard Nick Roditis scored 14 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter Wednesday to lead the Knights to a come-from-behind victory, 54-52, over Seattle Shorecrest in the championship game of the Katella Klassic.

Katella (11-2) trailed the entire game until Roditis hit two free throws with 6:38 remaining to give the Knights the lead for good at 42-41. Roditis scored his team’s first 10 points of the fourth quarter, stretching the lead to 47-42 at the 5:30 mark.

Roditis hit all three of his field-goal attempts in the fourth quarter, including two three-pointers that ignited Katella. He also hit six of eight free-throw attempts down the stretch to seal the victory.

Shoreline sprinted to a 10-2 lead with 3:30 remaining in the first quarter.

Shoreline had a chance to tie the score with five seconds remaining, but Chris Linhardt hit on just one of three free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt.

In the third-place game:

Long Beach Millikan 71, Western 57--Millikan jumped to a 13-2 lead after the first quarter and coasted to a 71-57 victory in the third-place game.

Western (9-3) did close the gap to 27-24 at the half, but a 20-4 run by the Rams (8-6) in the fourth quarter iced it.
