Rosemead : Building Fees Increased 50%
The Rosemead City Council has approved an increase in fees for construction projects, but it delayed a decision on raising two other taxes.
The council voted 4 to 1 to adopt a new schedule raising fees 50% on more than 100 planning and engineering permits. New fees include $388 for a site inspection, a minimum of $138.75 for a plan check and $201 for a preliminary review fee. City Manager Frank Tripepi said many of the fees had not been updated since 1975.
The council will schedule a public hearing in March on a proposal to establish surcharges on residential and commercial trash rates.
An unspecified increase in the utility tax was introduced but deferred until the impact of the state budget is known.
