South Coast Repertory is inviting Latino writers to submit scripts for its annual Hispanic Playwright’s Project July 27 through Aug. 8 in Costa Mesa. Three entries will be chosen for staged readings at SCR on Aug. 6 and 7.
Unproduced scripts are preferred, but previously produced plays which would benefit from further development also will be considered. Musicals are not acceptable, however, nor are plays written fully in Spanish.
The scripts, along with synopses and biographies of their writers, should be postmarked by April 2 to Jose Cruz Gonzalez, Hispanic Playwrights Project Director, South Coast Repertory, P.O. Box 2197, Costa Mesa, Calif. 92628-2197. For further details, call Gonzalez at (714) 957-2602, Ext. 215.
