Shari Asplund, of San Gabriel, a project administrator at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has been elected operations treasurer of the National Women’s Political Caucus of California.
Kathleen McGrorty, of Glendale, and Susan Romeo, of La Canada Flintridge, have been elected to the group’s executive board. McGrorty, an assistant vice president at Bank of America, will serve as political action committee treasurer, and Romeo, a public relations consultant, will be vice president of communications.
The 2,500-member group is part of the larger national organization of 35,000 members dedicated to increasing the number of feminist women in elected and appointed offices.
Rand Brooks, of Glendale, was honored as founder of Professional Ambulance Co. with the Edith Homan “Commitment to Better Health” award by the Glendale Memorial Health Foundation’s Corporate Council.
Diane Kanner, of the Los Feliz Improvement Assn., and Jeffrey B. Samudio, board member for the Eagle Rock Assn., will participate with 31 other local and statewide leaders in the Preservation Leadership Training program in January in Carmel.
The City of Glendale honored Karen Jorgensen, of Jorgensen and Associates Inc. in La Crescenta, with the Professional Achievement Award for 1992. The president of the human resources consulting company has been active in the city and its Chamber of Commerce for eight years, giving more than 800 hours of volunteer service.
