WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : UCLA Falls to Western Kentucky

UCLA committed 17 turnovers in the first half and lost, 73-55, to seventh-ranked Western Kentucky on Friday night at Bowling Green, Ky.
The Bruins (1-2) trailed, 47-28, at halftime.
Western Kentucky (4-1) then made 11 turnovers in the first 14 minutes of the second half to help UCLA pull to within 61-50 with 7:33 to play in the game. But the Bruins, trailing 68-53 with 4:39 remaining, then were held scoreless until the final 19 seconds.
Nicole Anderson led UCLA with 17 points. Kristie Jordan topped Western Kentucky with 13 points.
