Australians Richard Fromberg and Neil Borwick assured themselves of meeting for the title in the Colonial Mutual Tennis Classic with victories in the round-robin event at Melbourne, Australia.
Borwick defeated top-seeded Alexander Volkov, 7-5, 6-1, and Fromberg beat Australian Carl Limberger, 6-4, 6-2. The title match will be Sunday.
In the Women’s Tennis Assn. event, American Erika deLone defeated Louise Stacey of Australia, 6-2, 6-3 and set up a semifinal against Tina Krizan of Slovenia, who defeated Tracey Morton of Australia, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
