A fire started by an iron caused more than $100,000 in damage Thursday to seven units in a Palmdale apartment building, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
No injuries were reported.
It took 19 firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the 11:09 a.m. blaze at a building in the 38000 block of 11th Street East, Fire Capt. Dirk Wegner said.
About eight people were evacuated from the building.
The fire, which broke out near an iron that had been left on in an apartment, caused slight fire and water damage to two other units, Wegner said.
About four other apartments sustained smoke and water damage.
