TOYLAND: While just about anything goes when it comes to Hanukkah gift-giving, some parents opt to give their young religious presents with a special meaning. That gift is the dreidel, a top-like toy that has been used during time of religious repression as a way of passing an oral history of the faith to children. . . . Today, unusual dreidels are collector’s items, says Shahrok Ghodsi, who operates The Golden Dreidle shop in Costa Mesa. Price range: 20 cents for plastic to $250 for silver.
