‘Nutcracker’ at Noon: The lunchtime crowd at downtown L.A.’s California Plaza will be treated to a free concert by the Kirov Orchestra on Thursday. The concert will be a sneak preview of selections from “The Nutcracker,” which will be performed by the Kirov Ballet to the Kirov Orchestra’s music at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Dec. 22-Jan. 3. Alexander Polianichko will conduct at the plaza’s Watercourt.
