BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Crenshaw Beats Capistrano Valley in Overtime

Reggie McFerren scored seven points in overtime to lead Los Angeles Crenshaw to a 76-70 victory over Capistrano Valley in the championship game of the Coca-Cola/Converse tournament Saturday night at Capistrano Valley High.
Tournament most valuable player Kristaan Johnson hit a three-pointer with one second to play in regulation for Crenshaw to send the game into overtime. Crenshaw (6-1) rallied from an 11-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation.
Johnson, the son of former NBA all-star Marques Johnson, led all scorers with 24 points and pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds before fouling out in overtime. McFerren scored 19 points.
Corey Kost led Capistrano Valley (3-1) with 18 points. Todd Thornton added 17s for the Cougars, sinking five three-pointers.
Capistrano Valley missed on all five of its three-point attempts in overtime.
In the consolation final, Santa Margarita (3-1) defeated Long Beach Poly, 64-56, as Brian Finneran scored 17 points from off the bench.
