Centex Cutbacks: Centex Homes has closed its San Clemente office and consolidated it with a Riverside office, citing slow sales and expectations of more of the same in 1993. Two of a dozen employees were laid off, with the rest transferred to other Centex offices in Southern California.
The company, a division of Texas-based Centex Corp., has been building on the 1,800-acre Forster Ranch for three years. Centex acquired the huge property in 1988.
