Montclair Prep graduate Torey Lovullo signed a one-year contract with the California Angels on Thursday.

Lovullo, a switch-hitting infielder, had been in the New York Yankee system since a trade from the Detroit Tigers in the spring of 1991, but he became a minor-league free agent this fall.

The 13th Sparky Anderson-Cal Lutheran University Golf Classic will take place Monday at Sunset Hills Golf Course in Thousand Oaks.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. and will be contested under a Texas scramble format.

Entry fees are $175 per golfer with proceeds benefiting the Cal Lutheran baseball program.

The Kingsmen finished second in the NCAA Division III World Series last May.

In addition to Anderson, manager of the Detroit Tigers and a longtime Thousand Oaks resident, participants will include NFL Hall of Fame member Dick Butkus and Dodger first baseman Eric Karros.
