PREP POLLS : Los Alamitos Finishes First in Final Rankings
Los Alamitos High School finished the regular season as the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll, winning the county’s mythical championship.
Esperanza, the county’s No. 1-ranked team last season, finished second. The Sea View League had three teams--Irvine (No. 3), Santa Margarita (No. 9) and Newport Harbor (No. 10)--ranked among the top teams.
Los Alamitos follows Esperanza (1991), Mission Viejo (1990), Capistrano Valley (1989), Mission Viejo (1988), Bolsa Grande (1987), El Toro (1986) and Foothill (1985) as county champion.

Newport Harbor (Sea View): 8-2 Others receiving votes: El Dorado (8-2) and Capistrano Valley (6-3-1).
