COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : One Back Is Enough for Rest of Season
Coach Terry Donahue said the Bruins will use a one-back offense for the remaining two games of the season.
After averaging only 37 yards rushing in its first four Pacific 10 games, UCLA has averaged 174.5 yards in its last two games since switching to a one-back offense.
Although he prefers a fullback and a tailback, Donahue was forced to abandon a two-back attack because fullback Kaleaph Carter has been hampered by an Achilles’ tendon injury.
Tailback Chris Alexander, who said he prefers the one-back attack because it gives him more freedom, has rushed for 330 yards and one touchdown in his last two games.
