San Pedro 21, Crenshaw 6--Running back Ambrose Russo ran for 145 yards in 25 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter in a Southern Pacific Conference game at Crenshaw.
Russo scored on a one-yard run during the first play of the fourth quarter to give the Pirates a 14-6 lead.
Defensive end Michael Spelch led a tough Pirate defense, dropping Crenshaw running back Nickey Smith for a three-yard loss on a key third-down conversion in the fourth quarter, then sacking quarterback Tremaine Miles during the Cougars’ next possession. San Pedro held Crenshaw to 99 total yards.
Dennis Fomond, who rushed for 34 yards in seven carries, scored on a two-yard run to cut Crenshaw’s deficit to 7-6 in the third quarter.
