Ojai : Flu Shot Clinic Will Be Fund-Raiser Too
At the Ojai Valley Community Hospital’s annual flu shot clinic today and Saturday, officials will also be soliciting funds for a 14-year-old Ojai boy in need of a liver transplant.
The flu shots will cost $2 and are recommended for adults and children with chronic medical problems and healthy adults age 60 or older, said hospital spokeswoman Laura Ball.
Those receiving flu shots may also donate an additional $1 or more to the Aaron Clement Liver Transplant Fund.
Aaron learned in December that he had a malignant tumor on his liver. Since that, he has undergone surgery twice and received chemotherapy. The Clement family’s insurance company does not cover most of the costs of a liver transplant, which the young boy’s doctor say he needs.
The clinic will be open from 9:30 a.m. to noon both days.
