Datum Inc.: The Anaheim manufacturer of precision frequency products and timing instruments for military, industrial, space and commercial applications lost $119,000, or 5 cents a share, for the third quarter, contrasted with a profit of $78,000, or 3 cents a share, for the like 1991 period. Sales declined 14% to $6.6 million from $7.7 million. For the first three quarters, the company lost $456,000, or 18 cents a share, on sales of $20.8 million. For the corresponding nine months of 1991, the company recorded earnings of $572,000, or 23 cents a share, on sales of $23.9 million. The 1991 results included $158,000, or 6 cents a share, because of an accounting change.
