San Diego : Girl Going to School Kidnaped, Released
A student was kidnaped at gunpoint on her way to Garfield High School Wednesday morning and then released, a San Diego Police Department spokesman said.
The 17-year-old senior was walking along the 2500 block of Imperial Avenue at 8:17 a.m. after taking the bus from her home in Skyline to meet a girlfriend and go to Garfield in Normal Heights, officials said.
A man driving a 1977 dark green Chevrolet Impala pulled alongside her, pointed a gun and ordered her into the car, the spokesman said.
The man, described as black with extremely short hair, about 27 years old, drove the woman around the block, removed her necklace, then let her go after 15 minutes, the spokesman said.
