‘Better Characters’ Should Grow Up, Too

I find teacher Whatley’s “great moral victory” pretty mysterious. Pigs in a cartoon sexual embrace is bad for kids and inappropriate for school?

Maybe it is inappropriate, but probably not. Linking sex with fun and nature does not really strike me as really “immoral.”

At best it is a matter of taste and not morality, and while there may be moral content to good and bad taste, I hardly think it is the moral triumph Whatley suggests.

Did Whatley, I wonder, object to armed Ninja Turtles blasting away on T-shirts? Schwarzenegger and Rambo T-shirts?
