BREA — The body of a man who had been shot in the head was found on Thursday on a two-lane highway in a rural part of the city.
Police said they received a call at 12:30 p.m. from someone claiming to have seen a body being dumped from a car on Carbon Canyon Road, about one-quarter of a mile east of Olinda Drive, Police Lt. James Winder said.
Officers found the body of a man in his mid- to late 20s lying in the road. Police, who did not release the name of the man, said they did not know how long he had been dead.
The eastbound lane of the highway was closed for much of the afternoon.
