SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP : Reyna, La Verne Pass Azusa Pacific, 34-7
Willie Reyna threw three touchdown passes in the first half and La Verne routed Azusa Pacific, 34-7, Saturday in a nonconference game at Azusa.
Reyna completed 11 of 16 passes for 224 yards and had touchdown pass plays of 74 yards to David Morales, five yards to Bill Battin and seven yards to Gabe Cotero as La Verne (3-0-1) built a 28-0 lead at halftime.
Darren MacLellan rushed for 69 yards, including touchdowns of one and two yards.
Azusa Pacific scored with 11:24 left when Paul Ulibarri hit Dan Mitchell on a 58-yard pass play.

In other games, kicker Ben Schuldheiz picked up a bad snap and passed to Craig Undlin for a 22-yard touchdown that started Cal Lutheran (1-3, 1-0) to a 41-7 romp over Claremont Mudd (0-4, 0-1) in an SCIAC game at Thousand Oaks. Cassidy O’Sullivan rushed for 83 yards in 14 carries and an eight-yard touchdown for the Kingsmen . . . Jamie Guiterrez ran five yards for a touchdown and caught an 11-yard pass from Michael Bennett for another as San Diego (3-1-1) scored a 33-21 victory at Whittier. George Marquecho rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown for the Poets (0-4). Scott Sporrer ran for 137 yards and a score for the Toreros. . . . Gary Little rushed for 90 yards and three touchdowns to lead Occidental to a 34-20 SCIAC victory over Pomona-Pitzer at Eagle Rock. Josh Spitzen completed 14 of 28 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns for the Sagehens, but threw three interceptions.
