Playa Vista Plan’s Impact
In response to “Report Outlines Impact of Huge Playa Vista Project,†Oct. 2:
It is obvious that Maguire Thomas Partners’ proposal to protect the Ballona Wetlands in order to develop Playa Vista is a Trojan horse. One needs to be especially wary of developers bearing gifts. I want the wetlands protected, but the cost to all of Los Angeles with pollution, congestion, traffic increase and noise from the development is too great to ignore. True environmentalists concerned about preservation would not sacrifice the rest of the city for the wetlands.
The development is not right for smog-bound, gridlocked, overbuilt Los Angeles. The project is too large for the city.
