Wiedlandt, Park Help Foothill Overcome Fullerton’s Rally
FULLERTON — Steve Wiedlandt and Linus Park each rushed for two touchdowns to lead Foothill to a 35-13 nonleague victory over Fullerton Friday night.
The Knights (3-2) overcame a third-quarter scare from Fullerton and scored three touchdowns in the final quarter.
The Indians (1-4) rallied from 14-0 halftime deficit with two touchdowns in the third quarter on a six-yard run by Christopher Young and a 20-yard scramble by quarterback Keith Ginter.
Foothill answered on their next possession with a one-yard run by Park with 10:53 left in the game. Wiedlandt then put it away with an 11-yard run with 8:12 remaining.
Wiedlandt led the Knights in rushing with 85 yards in 12 carries; Park finished with 84 yards in 13 carries.
Foothill opened scoring on a five-yard run by Wiedlandt. The touchdown was set up by a 45-yard fumble return by Tom Steinle. Park made it 14-0 in the first quarter when he went in from one-yard out with 24 seconds left in the quarter.
Chris Hoke recorded three sacks. Foothill sacked Ginter five times for minus 24 yards.
Ginter completed seven of 16 passes for 88 yards and rushed 16 times for 41 yards.
