PALMDALE : Council OKs Plan for Development
The city of Palmdale has established a long-term economic development plan that outlines goals and strategies to encourage new business and create jobs.
By a 5-O vote Thursday, the Palmdale City Council approved a 26-point plan that includes hiring a business recruiter early next year to lure industries to the area, soliciting local builders to bid on city projects and streamlining the city’s business license and permit procedures.
Many of the goals reaffirm ongoing efforts by the city to enhance transportation to the Antelope Valley by lobbying federal, state and county agencies for the development of Palmdale Regional Airport, widening the Antelope Valley Freeway and increasing rail service.
