Cable Leaders: Five finalists have been named by the National Academy of Cable Programming for its top honor, the Golden CableACE Award, with the winner to be announced in January. The nominees: C-SPAN’s gavel-to-gavel coverage of the political conventions, HBO’s “Comic Relief V,” Lifetime’s “Women in Politics: A Lifetime Challenge” campaign, MTV’s “Choose or Lose” campaign, and Nickelodeon’s special “Conversation With Magic.”
