Philadelphia left-hander Terry Mulholland will undergo an examination of his right knee today to determine a date for arthroscopic surgery and first baseman John Kruk will have surgery on his right shoulder and hernia on Friday.
Kruk’s surgery will be overseen by team physician Phillip Marone. Kruk, who hit .323 in 144 games this season, will remain in Philadelphia during the off-season for rehabilitation.
On Wednesday, Marone examined pitcher Jose DeJesus, who underwent shoulder surgery in April. Marone said the pitcher could start throwing off the mound next month.
