* Trent D. Brooks has been promoted to president of Bankers Mutual, a mortgage banking company in Newport Beach, and has also acquired an ownership interest in the company. He succeeds Paul A. Neff, who will remain as chairman of the board. Brooks joined Bankers Mutual in 1984 and served as chief operating officer for the past two years.
