Countywide : Ballot Issues Taped for Sight-Impaired
- Share via
The secretary of state’s audiocassette version of the ballot pamphlet for the Nov. 3 election is now available at all 27 branches of the Orange County Library.
People who are visually impaired may borrow the tapes to listen to descriptions of all state measures, including the official title and summary, the impartial analysis prepared by the state legislative analyst, arguments for and against, and the rebuttals to these arguments.
A set of tapes consists of three 90-minute cassettes that provide information on Propositions 155 through 167, an overview of state bond debt and statements of purpose from each qualified political party.
The tapes may be listened to on any commercially available tape player, as well as on the special Talking Book recorders, and are beep-tone indexed for easy access to information. The tapes may be checked out for a maximum of four weeks.
