Countywide : Museum Grants for Art Projects Offered
The Ventura County Museum of History and Art is accepting applications for grants for visual or performing arts projects in Ventura County.
Individual artists and organizations are eligible to apply for the grants, which range from $250 to $1,000.
Applications are evaluated on the project’s individual merit as well as its impact on the community.
“Last year we had 18 applicants, and five were chosen,†said Sonia Tower, chairwoman of the grant committee.
Among last year’s recipients were the Ventura County Symphony for its Music in Schools Program and the Buenaventura Art Assn. for gallery lectures.
Applications must be submitted to the museum by Nov. 5, and recipients will be announced in early December.

They are also available at the museum Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
