World IN BRIEF : GERMANY : Events Scaled Down for Nazi V-2 Rocket

A museum director is going ahead with scaled-down events marking the 50th anniversary of Adolf Hitler’s V-2 rocket despite the government’s decision to drop its support for the observance because of outrage in Britain. “We want to show the good sides and the bad sides of the V-2,†said Peter Profe, the head of a small museum at the Peenemunde testing grounds in northeastern Germany. Nazi troops fired V-2 rockets at London and other cities toward the end of World War II, killing thousands of civilians.
